Our beloved mother, wife, and sister in Christ Juanita Louise (Haines) Kelley, 71, went home to glory on Thursday, February 8th, 2024.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Wilmington, Ohio, and attended Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield. Juanita was a graduate of the Ohio State University and later completed her Master's degree at Xavier University. Mrs. Kelley was an elementary school teacher and librarian in the Hillsboro City School district, where she impacted the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of young people in Hillsboro.
She retired in 2005, but her love of people and desire to serve never changed. Juanita continued to tutor students, and served as secretary of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro for several years.
Today she suffers no more, and we know she is walking in the garden with the Lord, never knowing pain or sadness again. We can go on knowing she is blissfully happy, and that we will see her again one day.
Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Haines, Sr. and Margaret Ann Wisecup of Greenfield, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dale Gene Kelley; her son, Sean (Dawn) Kelley; her daughter, Kimberly Scott; and eight grandchildren: Chloe Kelley, Hailey Kelley, McKayla Long, Alexis Kountz, Kelley Scott, Ashley Scott, Eldon Scott, and Justin Scott.
Visitation will from 4:00pm to 8pm on Friday, February 16th, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home, 241 East Main Street, Hillsboro. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 17th, with Pastor Joe Rhonemus officiating.
