Abbie Gail Dean, 84 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, April 23, 2004 at her residence.
She was born in Lee County, Virginia on September 23, 1919 the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Thacker Coomer.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Dean, who passed away on November 30, 1998, three sons, Robert Dean, Sherman Daniel Dean, Albert Lafayette Dean, one daughter, Molly Dean, one brother, Taft Coomer, and three sisters, Margie Coomer, Mae Maness, and Polly Bishop.
She is survived by three sons, James Millard Dean of Clinchport, Virginia, Carter Lee Dean of Cincinnati, Charles Edward Dean of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, four daughters, Reba Marshall of Hillsboro, Myrtle Hubbard of Appalachia, Virginia, Elsie Hall of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Nannie Duncan of Virginia, one brother, Ed Coomer of Tennessee, one sister, Elsie Coomer of Tennessee, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at The Church in Appalachia, Virginia with J.J. Vaughn, Ricky Oaks, and Buck Maness officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery in Lee County, Virginia.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends may call on Monday, April 26, 2004 from 6:00 till 9:00 PM at the Green Funeral Home in Appalachia, Virginia.
