Alice Joan Evans, 86 years of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday September 29, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Highland County on October 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Chester and Lodema (Davison) Horner. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband Robert Allen Evans on October 7, 1991, brother Donald Horner and sister, Jeanne Bowman.
Alice was a member of the Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church, Highland County Senior Citizen Center, Retired Teacher Association of Highland County, the Red Hat Society and taught for 29 years at the Paint Valley Schools.
Alice is survived by her son, Lynn Allen (Carolee) Evans of Bainbridge, daughter, Janet Elaine (David) Evans-Dunaway of Bainbridge, two grandchildren, Bethany Bland and Kyle Evans-Dunaway, three step-grandchildren, Missy Abram, Jessica Bryan and John Ferrell, three great grandchildren, Suncerae Bland, Dakota Bland and Delaney Bland, sister-in-law, Anna Horner of Wilmington, seven nieces and five nephews.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday October 3, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenfield Cemetery.
Friends may call at 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday October 2, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
