Andy McFarland, 68 years of Peebles, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.
He was born in Peebles, Ohio on August 12, 1933 the son of the late Ernest J. and Rhoda Grace Taylor McFarland.
He attended the Peebles Church of God. He retired after thirty-two years from Fifth Third Bank in Peebles where he was Branch Manager and Vice President. He was a member of the Adams County Honor Guard. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vohn and Harry McFarland.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bennington McFarland of Peebles, who he married on March 21, 1953, one son, Gary McFarland and Pam Cameron, three brothers, James McFarland of West Union, Burton McFarland of Peebles, Ernest McFarland of Manchester, three sisters, Thelma Neill of Scottsdale, Wilma Johnson of Peebles, Ann Rudd of Peebles, and two grandsons, Shaun and Chad McFarland, and friend, Sara Turner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at 2:30 P.M. at the Peebles Church of God with Ron Stephens and Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of God.
