Ann Eleanor Mckenzie

June 17, 1944 — June 12, 2013

Ann Eleanor McKenzie, 68 years, died Wednesday June 12, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Nursing Center in Monroe, Ohio following complications from a stroke on December 13, 2012.

Ann was the 3rd of 4 daughters born to J. Harold and Genevieve Haigh McKenzie on June 17, 1944. Following graduation from Belfast High School, Ann stayed home to work on the farm and care for J. Harold and Genevieve. In 1991, Ann moved to a little house on South High St. in Hillsboro where she lived happily for seven years until the first of a series of health issues began. While there, she developed a passion and talent for cross stitch and made many beautiful items, including two full sized quilts.

Ann is survived by her sister, Betty Moles with whom she lived 14 years. Three nieces: Sheryl Bob Smith, Victory Ohio, Jacque Jim Steritz, Lake Village Arkansas, Michelle Vinton Roush, Fairfield, Ohio. Three nephews: John Martin Phil Varasso, Columbus, Ohio; Mike Jenifer Moles, Batavia, Ohio, John "Chuck" Cathy Moles, Moraine, Ohio. 14 Great Nieces and Nephews and 1 great-great nephew.

Ann was preceded in death by sister Wilma J. Martin 1972, father J. Harold 1982, mother Genevieve 1991 and sister Mary Ellen Sept. 26, 2012.

Funeral services will be at the Belfast United Methodist Church south of Hillsboro on Rt. 73 2:00 P.M. on Saturday June 15, 2013 burial will follow at the Belfast Coss Cemetery.

Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 P.M. until time of service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Belfast United Methodist Church c/o Effie Behm at 9086 St. Rt. 785, Hillsboro Ohio 45133; Senior Independent Hospice, 9600 Colerain Ave. Ste 300 Cincinnati, Ohio 45251; American Cancer Society, a donation of blood at your local blood bank would enable someone to have their life extended as Ann did every 2-3 weeks for 8 years after her body stopped making blood.

The Family thanks everyone for all of the prayers, cards, and love during Ann's illnesses and life.
