Anna Marie Briscoe

Anna Marie Briscoe, 90 years of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born in Summersville, West Virginia on October 10, 1913 the daughter of the late John and Mary Belle Smith Sweeney.

She was a 1931 graduate of Summersville, West Virginia High School. She was a registered nurse, and served in the U.S. Army aboard the Queen Mary II Hospital ship during World War II. She was a member of the St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Briscoe, who passed away on May 27, 1998, and four brothers, Joseph, William, John Jr., and James Sweeney.

She is survived by four sisters, Wilma McClung of Summersville, West Virginia, Bernice Greer of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Cecilia Sweeney of West Virginia, Emma Martin of West Virginia, special friends, Linda, Ron, Cristy, and Deanna Kelley of Hillsboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals, Indiana. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in Shoals, Indiana.

Friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home.

Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of local arrangements.
