Anna Francis (Palmer) Graham of Hillsboro passed away November 9, 2016 at the Bell Gardens in Hillsboro.
Anna Francis was born August 19, 1925 to Edna (Maxwell) and James T. Palmer in a log cabin on the family farm near Belfast, Ohio. The second oldest of ten children, she developed a strong work ethic and a love of family by caring for her younger siblings. She was a violin player and basketball player at Belfast High School where she focused on business and mathematics courses. In 1943, at age 18, with $8 in her pocket she left home for Columbus where she became a bookkeeper with State Auto. In 1947, she married George W. Graham of Columbus.
In 1962, they moved to a home in the country outside of New Vienna, Ohio. After the passing of her husband in 1977, she was active in square dancing and travelled widely visiting over 16 different countries.
Mrs. Graham is survived by her sisters Ilena Palmer of Belfast, and Effie Behm of Belfast and, her brothers Ronald "Pete" Palmer of Georgetown and Dean Palmer of Belfast, 30 nieces and nephews and numerous grand- nieces/nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Graham and four brothers, Paul Palmer of Waynesville, Raymond "Ed" Palmer of Belfast, Leland Dale Palmer of Huron, and Jim Palmer of Belfast and her sister, Geneva Snider of Oxford.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Highland District Hospital Foundation ED project.
A Celebration of Anna's life will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday November 14, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Chris Gobin Officiating. A Visitation will be held prior from 1:00-2:30PM followed by a burial at the Coss cemetery in Belfast.
