Anna R. Smith, 60 years, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at her residence.
She was born November 9, 1949, at Clay Hole, KY, the daughter of the late Bedford and Norma Whitaker Combs. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Stanley Combs and her mother-in-law, Carlene Woods.
She was the devoted wife of David Smith and the beloved mother of Denise Mark Scheck of Lodi, OH, Aimee Joel Eckstine of Seville, OH, and Tina Jon Gerow, of Phoenix, AZ. Other survivors include Brother-in-law Randy Woods of Hillsboro, sisters Norma Grice of Greenville, OH, Wilma Ray Liles, of Beaver Creek, OH, twin sister Grace David Burger, of Medina, OH, Rhonda Rick Lowry of Florida, six grandchildren; Samantha Ann and Leah Ferrell, Darian Keller, Ashley, Alexis and Lucie Eckstine, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith attended Marshall United Methodist Church, a graduate of Lorraine Community College, retired R.N. and a REIKI Master. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was an avid photographer.
Friends may call from 5:00 till 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Zedda Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery..
