Archie Coomer, 83 years of Byrdstown, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Jeff, Kentucky on February 2, 1928 the son of the late Bradley and Elizabeth Spencer Coomer.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter; Debra Jacobi, one brother; John Coomer, and two sisters; Dorothy Gilbert and Laura Anderson.

Archie was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Barbara McLeod Coomer of Byrdstown, Tennessee, three sons; Steve of Hillsboro, Robert of Hillsboro, and David Coomer of Rossville, Georgia, one daughter; Patricia Pieper of East Troy, Wisconsin, one step son; James Barker of Columbus, one step daughter; Heather Barker of Munich, Germany, one brother; Paul Coomer of Dayton, two sisters; Gertrude Gibson of Cherry Fork and Helen Jones of Wooster, Ohio, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester with Ronald Liming officiating. Burial will be held on June 9, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 West Third Street Dayton, Ohio 45428 with a military graveside service given by Wright Patterson Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 till 6:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester.
