Barbara A. Tira, 81 of Hillsboro, passed away April 14, 2022.
Barbara was born on September 16, 1940 in Hillsboro, daughter of the late Earl H. and Grace (McCreight) Shafer. Besides her parents her sister, Patsy Duncan and brothers-in-law, Don and Larry Tira also precedes her.
Barbara graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1959. After graduating she started working for Bob McMullen Attorney Law office then went on to work for Liberty Bank. She retired from NCB Bank.
Barb enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flowerpots and traveling with her family. She was also a member of Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Tira, son, Brad & Casie Tira, grandchildren, Hope & Britton Haines, Blake and Layken Tira, brothers & sisters- in-law, Robert & Donna Tira and Steve & Nancy Parry, nieces, Janet & Bob Martin and Joyce & Frank Cosler, nephews, Jeff & Lydia Duncan and Jay & Julie Duncan, many great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Tuesday April 19, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home. Dr. Pastor Derek Russell will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday April 18, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home.
