Bernice Raines, 82 years of Seaman, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Adams County Manor.
She was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on July 14, 1926 the daughter of the late Phillip and Nellie Little Earls.
She was a member of the Countryside Church of Christ, a member of the Seaman American Legion Auxiliary for fifty eight years, and a member of the Republican Club.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Raines, who passed away on March 4, 1986 and four brothers Clyde, Delmar, Johnny, and Payton Earls.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Cindy Raines of Seaman, Robert and Teresa Raines of Seaman, and Dale and Robin Raines of New Albany, Indiana, daughters and sons-in-law Linda and J.L. Quelch of Austin, Texas and Debbie and Sanford Hill of Louisville, Kentucky, sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Ray Bovee of Melbourne, Florida, Stella Lyons of Dayton, Ohio, Effie and Clay Winters of Dayton, Ohio, Lillian Irwin of Wilmington, Ohio, and Etta Graves of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Countryside Church of Christ in Seaman with Hannum Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with an American Legion Auxiliary service at 8:00 P.M.
