Bernice M. Skeen, 99 years of the Harriett Community, died Wednesday morning, January 30, 2002.
She was born in Harriett, Ohio on September 12, 1902 the daughter of the late Jacob and Nan Creed Post.
She was a member of the Harriett Missionary Church.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan E. Skeen, who passed away on June 19, 1981, son, Robert Skeen, son-in-law, Bill Edwards, grandson-in-law, Joe Jordan, three brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Sue Skeen of Springfield, daughter, Norma Jean Edwards of Hillsboro, sister-in-law, Myrta Skeen of Springfield, four grandchildren, Sharon Edwards, Danny Carolyn Skeen, Debbie Jordan, Kathy Nick Vail, three great grandchildren, Traci Skeen, Gretchen Rex Minteer, Kelly Gathers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Jim Sollars officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
