Beverly J Burlett, 64, of Hillsboro died Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash.
Bev was born April 9, 1953 in Fredonia, New York to James and Carmella (Calanni) Oakes and graduated Fredonia High School in 1971. Beverly met her husband William "Bill" Burlett while Bill was home in Fredonia on leave from the Air Force. After a whirlwind true love story, Bev and Bill eloped after only 6 weeks on September 30, 1972. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
With Bill being stationed all over the world, including stays in Anchorage, Alaska and Okinawa, Japan. Beverly developed a love for travel exploring different countries up through her last few months. Eventually the family settled in Hillsboro, OH. It was then Beverly decided to enroll in college at The Christ College of Nursing with her best friend Lisa (Hill) Dembski. Beverly retired as the director from Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Beverly is survived by her husband William Burlett, daughter Monica Burlett, son Ryan (Jessica) Burlett, grandchildren William Jacob Burlett and Mallory Burlett; brother James (Judith) Oakes of Fredonia, NY and sister Deborah (George) Triana of Huron, OH. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by daughter Jeanette Burlett, granddaughter Kimberly Nichols, and brother Darrell Oakes.
Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations should be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati-Blue Ash, OH ( https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/ ) Donations can be made in many forms: cover the daily meals provides to the families, bird seed for the many feeders for each patient room, trees to be planted on the property, or even flowers to be delivered to patient rooms. The employees at the hospice center contributed greatly to the comfort and care of the entire family during Beverly's stay.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Saturday April 21, 2018 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro OH. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
