Bill Smith, 77 years of Peebles, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Cincinnati Veterans Hospital.
He was born in Manchester, Kentucky on January 19, 1933 the son of the late Broadus and Martha Lipps Smith.
Bill was a member of the Peebles Baptist Church and an army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son; Billy Smith.
He is survived by his wife Daisy Burns Smith of Peebles, whom he married on January 28, 1956, one son; Tom Smith of Peebles, one daughter and son-in-law; Sandra and Dave Schwab of Peebles, two sisters; Mary Jenny Gardner and Lisa Kistner both of Dayton, one sister-in-law; Eva Smith of Franklin, Ohio, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the Peebles Baptist Church with Ken Wells officiating with Military Rites given by the Adams County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Marble Furnace Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Peebles Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Peebles Baptist Church, 25730 State Route 41 Peebles, Ohio 45660.
The Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
