Blake William Hurless

Blake William Hurless, 11 years of age, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022.

Blake was born October 10, 2010, at Wilmington, OH., the son of Christopher L. and Susan B. (Van Pelt) Hurless. Beside his parents, Blake is survived by one brother, Spencer; maternal grandfather, Robert (Ebbie) Van Pelt of Leesburg; paternal grandfather, Hank (Teresa) Hurless of Leesburg, paternal grandmother, Roseanna (Brent) McNeal of Greenfield, paternal great grandmothers, Minnie Davis of Highland and Mary Hurless of Leesburg; aunts, Emily (Jason) Rice, Lacie (Josh) Ingles, Julie (Josh) Weddel, all of Leesburg; several cousins, great aunts and uncles and a host of friends.
Blake was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Janice Van Pelt and an uncle, Casey Hurless.

Blake just finished his 5th grade year and was so excited to be a 6th grader at Fairfield Middle School this coming year. Blake was a humble child that didn't want to be the center of attention but still excelled to be the best at all he undertook with his strong competitive spirit. He was an honest soul who would always tell you the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Blake loved country music, his computer games, and the outdoors; he enjoyed family camping trips and spending time outside on the family farm.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the Fairfield Local Schools Auditeria, 11611 State Route 771, Leesburg, OH 45135. Kevin Stuckey will officiate services with burial following in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Fairfield Local Schools Auditeria.
