Burton L. Wamsley, 78 years of Winchester, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at the V.A. Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on November 18, 1925 the son of the late Merrill M. and Zada Abbott Wamsley.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Cherry Fork Presbyterian Church, the Cherry Fork American Legion Morris-Baldridge Post #583, and the Adams County DAV Post #31.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two step mothers, Gladys and Opal, and one sister, Norma Jean Wamsley.
He is survived by his wife, Aileen Jimison Wamsley, daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Scott Holder of Dover, Ohio, Carol and Tony Crawford of Cherry Fork, sister, Connie Wamsley of Cincinnati, grandchildren, Jessica Holder, Ben Holder, aunt, Mable Stivers of West Union, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester.
Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 till 1:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home.
