Carl Shorty Young

Carl Shorty Young, 79 years of Peebles, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
He was born in Bainbridge, Ohio on September 17, 1934 the son of the late Noah and Ethel Hutchinson Young.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Workman Young, who passed away on March 29, 2007; son, Craig Young; and daughter, Christina.
He attended Rarden Nazarene Church and was a member of Labor International Union of North America Local #83.
He is survived by one son, Eddie Young of Peebles; three daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and Dan Johnson of Peebles, Corrienna and Noel Van Pelt of Wilmington, and Connie Calvert of Seaman; two brothers, Noah Young, Jr. of Hillsboro and Wilbur Young of Leesburg; four sisters; Betty Smith of Lebanon, Loretta Shinkle of New Vienna, Linda Cult of Carmel, and Janie Ward of Texas; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rarden Nazarene Church with Richard Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Blvd. Mt. Orab, Ohio 45144.
