Carol Barrera, 84 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday February 2, 2020.
She was born in New Market, Ohio on December 10, 1935, the daughter of the late Ervin and Bernice (Wilson) Walker. Besides her parents, her husband, Eddie Barrera on June 14, 2006 and one brother, Ronald Walker, also precede her.
Carol worked for the Ohio Bell Phone Operator in Hillsboro and along with her husband Eddie, owned and operated Barrera's Market in New Market. She also attended the New Market Baptist Church.
Carol is survived by her two sons, Richard (Susi) Barrera of Hillsboro and Donnie (Jacquie) Barrera of Hillsboro, daughter, Kay Barrera of Hillsboro, and seven grandchildren, Scott (Karen) Barrera, Alissa (Bill) Pegan, Amanda (Chad Randolph) Barrera, Kristi (Jesse) Dickens, Adam Roades, Richard (Sara) Furnish and Brian (Carrie) Furnish, fifteen great grandchildren and a special friend Kitty Rhodes of Hillsboro.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Thursday February 6, 2020 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday February 5, 2020 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
