Carol Spurgeon, 65 years of Peebles, died Friday,April 19, 2002 at her residence. She was born at Concord, KY on May 22, 1936 the daughter of Calvin and Gladys Deatley Mefford.
She was a faithfull member of the Seaman Church of Christ and was President of the Seaman Church of Christ Ladies Aide Group.
Survivors include her husband of forty-three years, Oren Spurgeon of Peebles, two children Karen Brown and Kevin Spurgeon, son-in-law, Larry Brown, two grandchildren, Valerie and Kayla Brown all of Peebles, three sisters, Bernice Shaffer of West union, Norma Adkins of Springfield, OH, Frances Anderson of Winchester and one brother, Gerald Mefford of Manchester.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at 3:00 P.M. at the Seaman Church of Christ under the direction of the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Ernest Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Tranquility Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2;00 P.M. till service time at 3:00 P.M. at the Seaman Church of Christ.
