Chuck Purtee, 39 years, of Waverly, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at his residence.
Chuck was born in Hillsboro, Ohio, on September 4, 1977, the son of Susie and Dale Humphreys, of Peebles. He graduated from Western Latham High School and earned an associate's degree from ITT Tech. Chuck worked in the heating and air conditioning field.
Chuck was preceded in death by his grandparents Mearyl Dean Shoemaker, and Newell and Ina Humphreys. In addition to his parents, Chuck is survived by his wife, Stacey Purtee; his maternal grandmother, Joy Shoemaker, of Peebles; a son, Cody Purtee, at home; a brother, Bryan (Rachel) Humphreys, of Peebles; a sister, Kimberly Hope Knauff, of Sinking Spring, Ohio; two nieces, Madison Lynn Knauff and Mariah Hope Knauff; and two nephews, Caleb Humphrey and Aiden Jenkins. Chuck will be missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 1:00 PM, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles, with Reverend Greg Seaman officiating. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Peebles.
Friends and family may pay their respects at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday.
