Charles H. Redkey

Charles H. Redkey, 91 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday July 10, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Highland County on May 15, 1923, the son of the late Earl and Austa Vanzant Redkey. Besides his parents he was also preceded by his sister Martha Louise and brother-in-law Paul Little.

Charles was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, Highland County Senior Citizens, served in the United States Navy during World War II, was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #9094, AMVETS Post #61 and American Legion Post #129; served on the Highland County Honor Guard and retired from Keebler Company in Cincinnati in 1986.

He is survived by his wife Frieda Crum Redkey, whom he married on June 15, 1946, son and daughter-in-law Jim and Lee Redkey of Westchester, sister-in-law Noreta Hamilton of Louisa, KY, grandson Brian Gray of Fort Mitchell, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 12, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home with John Porter and Jim Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call at 11:00 A.M. until time of services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
