Charles William Rudd, 90 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown.
He was born in Port William, Ohio on November 9, 1916 the son of the late Edwin and Stella Stanton Rudd.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death on April 28, 1998 by his wife Helen Viola Andrews Rudd to whom he was married for 56 years, and two sisters Mabel Rudd, and Winona Bradford.
Charles attended Ohio State University and graduated from Wilmington College. He was the Principal and taught 8th grade at Samantha for a few years. He was a retired truck driver, member of the K.P. Lodge, an avid coon hunter for many years and a member of the Highland County Coon Hunter?s Association. Charles served in the Untied States Army and was a WWII veteran.
He is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Shelton of Hillsboro, Sandy & Richard Vance of Hillsboro, Charlene Miller of Hillsboro. Eleven grandchildren, and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Bonnie Bohn, and Rev. Curtis Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
