Charles E. Shields, 77 years of Peebles, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Highland District Hospital.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on March 21, 1931 the son of the late Robert and Lillie Houser Shields.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Shields, who passed away on December 30, 2003 and one son Donnie Shields.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Teddy and Sharon Shields of Highland, Ohio, daughters and sons-in-law Diana and Charlie Johnson of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Anna Lou and Denny Ball of Peebles, brother Howard Shields of Peebles, sisters Agnes Thomas of Dayton and Beulah Stratton of Winchester, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union; the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is serving the family.
