Charlie Kerns, 76 years of Waverly, passed away on Sunday March 8, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Hamilton County, OH on August 16, 1938, the son of the late Elsie and Vergie (Chenoweth) Kerns. Besides his parents he was also preceded by two daughters, Kathleen Shumate and Connie Kerns and two brothers, Joe and John Kerns.
Charlie is survived by his wife Violet "Ruth" Kerns of Peebles, three sons, Clifford Kerns of Waverly, Calvin (Shirley) Kerns of Peebles and Claude Kerns of Fresno, CA; daughter Charlene (Thomas) Wisecup of Martinsville, three brothers, Sam Kerns of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mac Kerns of Waverly and Leroy Kerns of Peebles, one sister Mary "Sissy" Kerns of Columbus, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and the extended Nichols Family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday March 13, 2015 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, OH. Burial will follow at Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
