Chester S. Hayslip

Chester S. Hayslip, 75 years of Wilmington, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Continental Manor in Blanchester.

He was born in Wilmington, Ohio on January 29, 1933 the son of the late Minor and Julia Conger Hayslip and aunt and uncle, Cecil and Lena Smith, who raised him.

He was a retired interior decorator. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Wilmington Bible Baptist Church, thirty-five year member of the Orphans-Hope Lodge #182 I.O.O.F. of Martinsville, Martinsville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Clinton County Horseshoe League.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

He was united in love on September 20, 1971 to Sandra Rhoads Hayslip, who survives. He is also survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jody C. and Libby Hayslip, Charles E. and Amy Hayslip, Todd E. Hayslip, brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Leona Hayslip, sister-in-law, Janet Hayslip, all of Wilmington, and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wilmington Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating. Burial will follow in Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 till 1:00 P.M. at the Wilmington Bible Baptist Church.

Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
