Chester Howard Wylie

Chester Howard Wylie age 81 of Hillsboro died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at his residence. He was born on January 19, 1925 to Edgar and Una Wylie. On April 12, 1947 he was married to Mary Elizabeth Kelley and they were blessed with three loving, caring daughters. Mernita Crawford friend, Frank Creech, Wahnita Bill Anderson, Patty John Chambers, 10 grandchildren: Rhonda Crawford, Mary Brad Carson, Danny Laura Fannin, Billy Heather Anderson, Susan David Rosselott, Karen Curtis Shoemaker, Missy Bobby Schurman, and J.C. Chambers. 14 great grandchildren: Stevie, Tommi and Amber Fannin, Haden and Olivia Anderson, Skye and Maia Rosselott, Conner, Caden and Carson Shoemaker, Keeley, Dylan and Aubrey Schurman, and Amelia Carson. Survived by sisters: Velma West, Loree Tumbelson, Irene Duane Michael, Wandalee Eddie Moore and nieces, nephews, and Aunt, Opal Milburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Una Wylie, granddaughter, Marcia Anderson, grandson, Bobby Anderson, son-in-law, Ray Crawford, sister, Mary Baldwin, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, and uncles.

He moved to the family farm in Adams County in 1932 where he lived until his illness in August 1999 where he then moved to Hillsboro. He was a member of the Belfast United Methodist Church.

He was a steward of the land. He took great pride of the farm and all of his family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Janie Shoemaker and Ken Woleab officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
