Clara Hughes, 97 years of Winchester, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
She was born in West Union, Ohio on January 6, 1909 the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Maggie Kirker Thoroman.
She was a member of the Winchester United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Manchester O.E.S. Nathaniel Massie #548, and the Winchester Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hughes, who passed away in 1999.
She is survived by her son, Kent Hughes of Grand Blanc, Michigan, daughter, Peggy Breeze of Morehead, Kentucky, sister, Margaret Bradford of Rolla, Missouri, grandchildren, Jeffrey Hughes, Brooke Egan, Michael Breeze, Lee Ann Ken Disponett, David Breeze, Jamie Breeze, and Michele Breeze, eight great grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Winchester United Methodist Church with Rev. John Waugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester.
Memorials may be made to Winchester United Methodist Church, 70 E. Washington Street, Winchester, OH 45697.
