Clarence Slim Hawkins, 87 years of Seaman, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia.
He was born in Owingsville, Kentucky on January 26, 1917 the son of the late Hansford L. and Rozetta Arrasmith Hawkins.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Seaman American Legion Charles H. Eyre Post #633, and the Louisville Grange. He was a lifetime farmer.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 1/2 years, Evelyn Butler Hawkins, who passed away November 4, 2002, one son, Kenneth Hawkins, one daughter, Connie Hawkins, six brothers, Willard "Bill", Otis, Omer T., Harley, Orval, and Howard Lee Hawkins, and one sister, Mae Workman.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Shirley Hawkins of Panama City, Florida, Gary Hawkins of Seaman, daughters and sons-in-law, Clarine and Tim Colliver of Lebanon, Ohio, Charlotte and Nick DeAtley of Winchester, Bettie and Rick Johnson of Athens, Ohio, sisters, Ruby Mikels of Troy, Ohio, Ethel Wilkin of Sidney, Ohio, Annabel Black of Piqua, Rosie Foles of New Carlisle, Ohio, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Homer Holsted officiating. Burial will follow in the Samantha Methodist Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
