Clarence Swartz, 83 years of Seaman, passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on September 18, 1925 the son of the late Carl and Louisa Johns Swartz.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Swartz, who passed away in 1996, one brother, and two sisters.
Clarence was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict; he graduated from several military schools, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Val and Darceen Swartz of Winchester and Karl and Diane Swartz of Batavia, two daughters and sons-in-law; Karen Swartz and husband Mark of Columbus, Ohio and Melody and Steve Dennison of Glasgow, Kentucky, brother Charles Swartz of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Reverend Dan Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery with military graveside services given by the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Thursday from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
