Clarence W. "Wimpy" Walker, 94 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday August 4, 2014 at the Bethesda North Hospital.
Wimpy was born on the family farm near Fairfax on October 2, 1919, the son of the late Wesley T. and Ida Mae (Cox) Walker. On August 31, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mary Catherine (Thompson) Walker who preceded him in death on February 1, 2003; he was also preceded by his daughter and son-in-law Sharon and George Gall; five brothers, Ora, Omer, Earl, Robert and Leonard Walker; two sisters, Auta Mae Honaker and Mattie Belle Morgan.
Wimpy was a 1938 graduate of Belfast High School, served his Country as a SGT in Co E 115th Infantry Regiment 29th Infantry Division Army of the United States during W.W. II, member of the Hillsboro VFW Post #9094, American Legion Post #129, AMVETS Post #61, F.O.E. Aerie #1161 Hillsboro, B.P.E. Lodge #361 and was a retired Tool and Die Maker.
He is survived by one daughter Jenny Gall of Hillsboro, OH., one son and daughter-in-law Danny and Lori Walker of Jackson, OH., seven grandchildren, Mindy (Bob) Payne of Hillsboro, OH., Erin Walker of Dublin, OH., Emily (Matt) Woods of Chillicothe, OH., Brooke (Tom) Sillasen of Dublin, OH., Chris (Merranda) Hilderbrandt of Blanchester, OH., Katie Hilderbrandt of Wilmington, OH., Kelly (Ron) Captain of Hillsboro, OH., 12 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Flo Walker of Hillsboro, OH., several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Friends may call Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Inurnment of cremains will be held at the convenience of the family in the Fairfax Cemetery.
