Cleo M. Carkeek, 87 years of Harshaville Community, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.
She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on November 6, 1917 the daughter of the late Chester and Verna Carmack McDaniel.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carkeek, who passed away in 1981, one brother, Delbert Chester McDaniel, and two sisters, Glenna Barrett, and Dorothy McDaniel.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, William and Edie Carkeek, Jr. of Georgetown, Aaron Carkeek of Seaman, daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and John Woodman of Port St. Lucy, Florida, Janell and Dennis Clark of Montana, brother, Otto McDaniel of Savannah, Georgia, sisters, Marie Howard of London, Kentucky, Lena Petrey of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Georgia McQueen of Burning Springs, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, one great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cherry Fork Cemetery with Rev. Steve Darby officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home in Seaman is in charge of arrangements.
