Clifford R. Fenner, 86 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born at Highland County on April 3, 1918 the son of the late Everett and Georgie C. Calhane Fenner.
He was a life time member of the Dunn?s Chapel United Methodist Church, attended the Marshall United Methodist Church, retired from Farm Bureau/Landmark in 1982 after 36 years of service, He was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving in WWII, member of the Highland Lodge #36, served as Worshipful Master in 1966, Royal Arch Mason Chapter #40, served as High Priest in 1969, District Deputy Grand High Priest of the Fifth Capitular District, 1978, 1979, & 1980, Hillsboro Council #16, served as Illustrious Master, 1968, President of the Third Arch Officers Association, 1972, and Third Arch Adjutant, served as Recorder of Hillsboro Council for many years, Sir Knight of Highland Commandery #31, served as Emminent Commander , 1957 & 1958, member of the Drill Team since 1969. Served many years as Recorder for Highland Commandery, Knight Templar Cross of Honor, Knight York Cross of Honor, past president, Highland-Clinton Counties KYCH Club, Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, Temple Tabernacle in Cincinnati, served as Preceptor, 1983, member of Royal Order of Scotland, Red Cross of Constantine, St. Columba Conclave, Cincinnati, 1980 & served as Puissant Sovereign, 1988, Member of the Harry Sark Council of Allied Masonic Degrees & served as Sovereign Master, 1992, Served as Watchman of Shepherds of Hillsboro Shrine #36 order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, 1968, 1970, 1975 & 1978, served as King, member of Hillsboro Chapter #441 OES, served as Worthy Patron, 1972, 1976, Grand Aide, 1977, Worthy Grand Patron, 1982, Grand Trustee, 1985, Served on Estarl, Jurisprudence, Appeals & Grievances, Ohio Masonic Home & Mergers & Consolidations Committee.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Smith Fenner on May 12, 2004.
He is survived by his mother-in-law, Doris Smith of Hillsboro, two daughters and sons-in-law, Dinah and James Phillips of Hillsboro, Vicki and Jeff Rhude of Hillsboro, five grandchildren, Michelle Andrew Cimis, Mark Jamey Phillips, Melanie Hall, Julie Mitch Roberts, Joe Rhude, eight great grandchildren, Lauren Cimis, Kaitlyn Phillips, Connor Phillips. Phillip Hall, Brooke Hall, Jordan Roberts, Zachary Roberts, Hayley Roberts and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dunn?s Chapel Cemetery with military graveside services by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 ? 8:00 P.M. with Masonic services at 7:30 P.M. followed by Eastern Star Services at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
