Clifford J. Lawson, 101, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born on November 18, 1911 in Sinking Spring, Ohio, the son of the late Manford and Austa McCoppin Lawson.
Clifford was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Fulton Lawson, his second wife, Margene Haines Lawson, sister and brother-in-law; Grace and Waverly Parkinson, brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Mary Ruth Davidson, grandson, James Gregory Lawson, and great grandson, Joshua Yearout.
He attended Chester Friends Church in Wilmington; he retired after 42 years with Brown Publishing and Curless Printing Cos. in Blanchester, Ohio. He was a 70 year member and past master of Blanchester Masonic Lodge #191 and a member of the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite. He had a love of cars and took pride in the ones he owned. He enjoyed being at home and working in his yard.
Clifford is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law; Gary and Rona Lawson of Marshall, Ohio and Steve and Barbara Lawson of Wilmington, Ohio, six grandchildren; Debbie O'Briant, Cliff Karen Lawson, Rick Jackie Lawson, Cheri Mike Edwards, Shane Lynnette Lawson and Jason Emily Lawson, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, step daughter, Donna John Spencer, step son Russel Lonnie Haines and their families, sister-in-law Anna Lee Dennis Beekman, many nieces and nephews, cousins; his caregivers and roommate at The Laurels of Hillsboro, Wilbert May.
Services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Phil Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 12:00 P.M. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
