Clyde E. Manning, 79 years of Bainbridge, died Thursday, January 10, 2002 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Jacob, Kentucky on November 6, 1922 the son of the late Bryson and Gladys Waddell Manning.
He was an avid gardener, loved to fish and play music. He retired as the Supervisor of the Sewer and Water Department for the City of Fairborn.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Manning and Kathleen Paynter.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Hyden Manning of Bainbridge, whom he married on March 24, 1944, two sons and daughters-in-law, David E. and Pamela Manning of Hillsboro, Garry F. and Barbara Manning of Fairborn, daughter, Theresa M. Sorah and friend, Rodney Rogers of Bainbridge, two brothers, Clinton Ray Manning of Amarillo, Texas, Ronnie Manning of Davin, West Virginia, four sisters, Christine Rose of Hampton, Virginia, Sandra Black of Jacksonville, Florida, Icelene Adkins of Davin, West Virginia, Patty Nesbet of Kingsport, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Wylie Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Rhoads Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
