Corda Downs, 93 years of Winchester, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on June 30, 1916 the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Perlina Hatfield Kimmerly.
Corda was a member of the Cherry Fork Presbyterian Church.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Downs, who passed away in August of 1984, one daughter; Geneva Franklin, and four brothers.
She is survived by her son Jim Downs of Cincinnati, son and daughter-in-law; Dan and Ann Downs of Winchester, one daughter and son-in-law; Kathy and Lary Lohse of Winchester, son-in-law Jack Franklin of Tucson, Arizona, four brothers; James of Winchester, Ed of Dayton, Ross of Cincinnati, and Bob Kimmerly of Washington, D.C., five sisters; Bertha Webb of Winchester, Mintie Rogers of West Union, Sally Parsons of Forrest Grove, Oregon, Annie Frost of Centerville, Ohio, and Jean Grooms of New Richmond, Ohio, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Reverend Nate Manzo officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
Memorials may be made to the Cherry Fork Presbyterian Church.
