Cyrus Norman Stephens, 88 years of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Salem, Ohio on March 31, 1917 the son of the late Cyrus and Ruth Ulen Stephens.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. He retired in 1980 after thirty-five years service with Ohio Bell. He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, the Highland Lodge #38 F.&A.M., the Hillsboro Chapter #40, the Hillsboro Council #16, and the Highland Commandry #31. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
He was united in marriage on June 17, 1942 to Helen Tolle Stephens, who survives. He is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard U. and Barbara Stephens of Columbus, Ohio, John and Lauren Stephens of Albuquerque, New Mexico, four grandsons, Craig Diane Peterson of Columbus, Michael Dalene Stephens of Fresno, California, Mark Stephens of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Matthew Stephens of Oakhurst, California, and two great grandchildren, Keri and Courtney Peterson.
There will be no visitation, and the service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
