Damon ?Butch? Gordley, 80 years of Peebles, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at the Batavia Nursing & Convalescence Inn.
He was born at Peebles, Ohio on December 14, 1923 the son of the late Chester and Edith Riley Gordley.
He owned and operated Gordley?s IGA for many years, a member of the Thompson-Wallingford American Legion Post #594, Adams County VFW Post #1029, Hillsboro Elks Lodge #361 and was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Lorraine Potts on March 13, 1978 and his 2nd wife Nora Shiveley on April 5, 2003 and one son Tim Gordley.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Jeannie Gordley of Peebles,
three grandchildren, Alan, Damona and Yancy, six great grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Kelsey, Chaye, Logan and Camron.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
