Dayne "Woop Woop" Puckett

Dayne "Woop Woop" Puckett, 82 years of Sinking Spring, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

Dayne was born September 7, 1940 in Sinking Spring to the late Howard and Nettie Ellen (Setty) Puckett. Beside his parents, Dayne was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Puckett and a loving nephew, Zachary Puckett.

Dayne attended the Sinking Spring Community Church. He was a graduate of Sinking Spring High School and took Dale Carneige Courses. Dayne and his mother were sales representatives for Avon for 60 years. Dayne was the sales manager for the band, "The Van Dells" for 30 years and traveled all over the country with them and several other Country Music Stars including Steve Lake and The Swingmasters Band, Jerry Lee Lewis, Charley Pride, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton . Dayne has a picture with him and Dolly Parton standing by the Sinking Spring village sign, one of many pictures with Nashville Stars. Dayne likes to say, "from Sinking Spring to Nashville, Hee Haw". Dayne performed on the Grand Ole Opry where he sang his famous song, "I'm A Nut" and made Sinking Spring famous when he gave the population of the village during that episode of Hee Haw. Dayne loved sports and assisted with the Peebles High School basketball teams, never missing a game whether boys or girls when he was not on the road. Dayne also was on the Cincinnati Reds charity Softball Team during the Pete Rose era traveling all other Southern Ohio doing charity events. Dayne is truly going to be missed.

Dayne is survived by his loving sister, Delores (Keith) Goldsberry of Centerville, OH.; two brothers, Donald (Linda) Puckett of Wilmington, OH., Jerry (Sharon) Puckett of Peebles, OH.; sister-in-law, Herma Puckett of Punta Gorda, FL.; nephew, Kyle (Jody) Goldsberry & children, Dylan & Alyson; niece, Andrea (Ryan) Fullenkamp & children, Brooke, Hunter & Morgan;nephew, Chad (Christina) Puckett; nephew, Craig Puckett; niece, Amy (Todd) Griffith & children, Sydney (Harley) McPherson, Layne and Landyn; nephew, Tyler (Mitzi) Puckett & children, Gavin & Griffin; nephew, Dallas (Becca) Puckett & children, Silas & Spero; Zachary's sons, Carson & Paxton Puckett; cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Sinking Spring Community Church, 23 Main Street, Sinking Spring, OH. Pastor Greg Seaman will officiate services with burial following in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Sinking Spring Community Church.
