Delphia E. Maxie, 94 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday February 23, 2015 at the Hearth and Care of Greenfield.
She was born in Greenup, KY on October 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Milford and Virgie (Knipp) Sexton. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband George Maxie on December 8, 2007, one son Arthur Maxie, four brother Lermon, Albert, Russell and Estle Sexton and two sisters, Norma Harr and Audrey Tarr.
She was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary.
Delphia is survived by her two sons, Hershel "Ray" (Solweig "Silver") Maxie of Washington Court House and Jerry W. (Lorrie) Maxie of Alcoa, TN; daughter Sandra Whaley of Hillsboro, sister, Iva Glispie of South Shore, KY, 12 grandchildren,24 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 7, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and services will start at 11:00 A.M.
Delphia's wishes were to be cremated and burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's association or to the Hospice of Heartland.
