Denver Whitley, 80 years of Peebles, died Friday, June 8, 2001 at the
Adams County Hospital in West Union.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on October 27, 1920 the son of the late Jess and Bertha Bradney Whitley.
He attended the Antioch Church, was a lineman for General Telephone Company.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Chester, Gordon, and Clifford Whitley, and two sisters, Grace Atkins and Virgie Austin.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Purtee Whitley whom he married on June 22, 1942, one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Rosemarie Whitley of Peebles, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Donald Austin of Peebles, Sister, Violet Evans of California, four grandchildren and three great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Monday June 11, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Burial will following in the Cedar Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
