Donald W. Austin, 78 years of Peebles, died Monday, December 17, 2001 at the Austin Manor in Peebles.
He was born in Peebles, Ohio on October 1, 1923 the son of the late Ross and Addie Riley Austin.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the D.A.V. #31, Thompson-Wallington American Legion Post #594, Peebles Masonic Lodge #581, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Smalley Austin, who passed away on May 15, 2001.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Sharon Austin of Peebles, Steve Austin of Peebles, four grandchildren, Shari, Jody, Amber, and Jared, four great grandchildren, and brother, Tom Austin of Peebles.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Bill Ryan and Clarence Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. with Masonic service at 7:30 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
