Donald R. Chapman, 71 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.
He was born in Glenwood, West Virginia on August 10, 1932 the son of the late Creed P. and Ruth Irene Nottingham Chapman.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Rainsboro Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was ordained for the Out-Reach for Christ Ministries.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Chapman, and one brother, Henry Martin.
He was united in marriage on December 16, 1988 to Barbara Jane Hurn Chapman, who survives, he is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Tamira Chapman of Chillicothe, David and Gina Chapman of Chillicothe, Dan Chapman of Greenville, Ohio, Charles Chapman of Greenville, Russell and Chris Chapman of Grove City, Mike Stroup of Houston, Texas, daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Martin of Chillicothe, Mary Pell of Greenville, Ruthie and Edward Rehmert of Greenville, step son, James E. Leslie Purtee of Lynchburg, brother and sister-in-law, Creed and Carol Chapman of Dayton, sister, Judy East of Tennessee, half brothers, Bobby Martin of Droyton Plain, Michigan, George Blake of Florida, mother-in-law, Sylvia M. Hurn of Hillsboro, sixteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Wiley Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hulitt Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
