Donald Helterbrand

Donald Helterbrand, 95 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born in Highland County, Ohio on June 11, 1911 the son of the late Clarence and Sarah Groves Helterbrand.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He retired after thirty-five years from the Clinton Asphalt Company, and he was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Rainsboro Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Mae Reno Helterbrand, who passed away on June 4, 2001, three sons-in-law, Larry Bobb, Robert Sheppard, Dale Robinson, one great grandson, five brothers, and two sisters.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Judy Helterbrand of Fostoria, Ohio, daughters and son-in-law, Velma Helterbrand of Hillsboro, Ruby and Bradley Bourne of Hillsboro, Sharon Bobb of Winchester, Patty Sheppard of Sinking Spring, Betty Lou Robinson of Lebanon, brothers, Alvin Helterbrand of Hillsboro, Russell Helterbrand of Hillsboro, Follis Helterbrand of Bowersville, nineteen grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Don Sparks officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of donor's choice.
