Donald Johnson

Donald Johnson, 80 years of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Peebles, Jaybird Ohio on November 11, 1930 the son of the late Clarence and Dolly Spears Johnson.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law; John Winkelman.

Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict; he was a member of the Leesburg Masonic Lodge #78, and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Gracie McCane of Leesburg, whom he married on December 24, 1952, two sons and daughters-in-law; Larry and Debbie Johnson of Blanchester and Kenneth and Doris Johnson of Seaman, one daughter; Lisa Winkelman of Hillsboro, one brother and sister-in-law; Clarence and Jo Ann Johnson of Peebles, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Helen and Donald Hoop of Manchester and Gloria and Cecil "Bud" Kidder of Wilmington, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Rev. John Maggard officiating. Military Rites will be given by the Adams County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Jacktown Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 till 9:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. There will be a Masonic Service at 8:30 P.M. Tuesday given by the Leesburg Masonic Lodge #78.
