Donald Rickey 69 years of West Union, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 in Winchester.
Donald was born in Wayne Township, Ohio on May 17, 1939 the son of the late John Thomas and Elva M.Purdin Rickey.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ and graduated from Seaman High School in 1958.
He is survived by six brothers, Robert Rickey of Dayton, Ohio, Charles Rickey of Mt. Carmel, Ohio, John Rickey of Winchester, Wendell Rickey of Winchester, and Roger Rickey of Winchester, and Ronald Rickey of Decatur, Ohio; three sisters Mary Phyllis Carl of Enon, Ohio, Miss Emma Rickey of Dayton, Ohio, and Shirley Massey of Wilmington, and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Decatur Methodist Church with Tom Breeze and Jerry Naylor co-officiating; there will be no visitation, but the family will receive friends at the Decatur Community Center immediately following service; the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Adams County Historical Society or the Decatur Community Center.
