Donald M. Semple, 96 years of Seaman, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on September 28, 1915 the son of the late Will E. and Nettie McGovney Semple.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his three wives, Beulah Wade Semple, Lola Hardin Semple, and Emma Jean Pickerill Semple, infant son, William Dean Semple, and son, William Eugene Bill Semple.
Donald was a well known farmer and businessman in the area and served two terms as Adams County Commissioner from 1964-1972 and he was also actively involved with Tennessee Walking Horses for several years.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Bob and Rebecca Semple of Winchester and David Bud and Margaret Semple of Seaman, one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Ernie Butts of Winchester, five grandchildren, Kathleen Young, Lyn Rhonemus, David Semple, Eric Semple, and Paul Semple, and three great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester.
