Donald D. Tira, 66 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, January 11, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born in Marshall, Ohio on February 20, 1941 the son of the late William Floyd and Alta L. Hammond Tira.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Larry Tira, and one niece Shelly Parry Craft.
Donald was a member of the New Life Church and Ministries, the Highland County Honor Guard, AMVets Post #123, Hillsboro, American Legion Luther Giffin Post #14, Bainbridge, B.P.O.E. Lodge #361, Hillsboro, Hillsboro FOE Aerie #1161, and a Lifetime member of the VFW Hillsboro Post #9094.
He is survived by wife Dianna Kratzer Tira whom he married July 24, 1980. One daughter Mandy Tira of Hillsboro. Two brothers & sisters-in-laws James W. & Barbara Tira of Hillsboro, and Robert L. & Donna Tira of Hillsboro. One sister & brother-in-law Nancy & Steve Parry of Hillsboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Life Church and Ministries in Hillsboro with Bill Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery with military graveside services by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
