Donna May Carmean, 84 years of Leesburg, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Highland District Hospital.
She was born in Clinton County, Ohio on November 17, 1919 the daughter of the late Durward and Rella May Carpenter Custis.
She was a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens, was a 1983 Citizen of the Year, and was well known for her bread baking.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Pearl Carmean, who passed away September 24, 1976, and two brothers, Laurence and Warren Custis.
She is survived by seven sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Barbara Carmean of Hillsboro, Perle Junior Carmean of Hillsboro, Norman E. and Roberta Carmean of Hillsboro, David Carmean of Frankfort, Ohio, Lester D. Carmean of Hillsboro, Russell L. and Carol Sue Carmean of Leesburg, Tony Carmean of Hillsboro, two daughters and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Leon Trefz of Greenfield, Anna Kimberly of Hillsboro, three brothers, Scott Custis of Chesterland, Ohio, Homer Custis of Chesterland, Guy Custis of California, two sisters, Carrie Purtee of Wilmington, Ilene Roberts of Florida, twenty grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and special friend, John Swisshelm of Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Mary Cyruss officiating. Burial will follow in the Bridges Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
