Dorothy M. ?Granny? Burchett, 85 years of the Sinking Spring Community, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
She was born in Adams County, Ohio on October 11, 1920 the daughter of the late Arthur and Essie Helterbrand Thompson.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion Christ in Christian Union Church
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Burchett, who passed away on August 19, 1999, two sons, Robert and Billy Joe, one daughter, Glory Jane, and four brothers, Ralph, Elzza, Paul, & Floyd Orva Thompson, two sisters, Eliza Myrtle Kathleen Bricta and Della Pauline O?Bryant.
She is survived by four sons, Orva Gragg of Sinking Spring, Milton Gragg of Hillsboro, Russell Burchett of Hillsboro, Rodney Burchett of Houston, Texas, three daughters, Mary Williams of Hillsboro, Edith Urban of Cedar Lane, Texas, Helen Burchett of Cedar Lane, Texas four brothers, Forest Hank Thompson of Hillsboro, Johnny Thompson of Leesburg, Kenneth Thompson of Lake Jackson, Texas, Robert Bob Thompson of Highland, two sisters, Marlene Foster of Peebles, Stella Mae Ward of Peebles twenty three grandchildren, several great and several great great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Rev. Carey Hilterbran officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
