E. Cecil Grover, 95 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, March 21, 2002 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Owl Creek of Pike County, Ohio on April 6, 1906 the son of the late John and Susie Belle Shonkwiler Grover.
He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, member of the Board of Education for Rainsboro Schools, a twenty-five year member of the Rainsboro United Methodist Church, a member of the Ohio Association of Realtors, and a member of the National Association of Realtors. He held numerous church positions. He was a farmer and a prominent Tamworth swine breeder and exhibitor. He was a map draftsman for the Highland County Engineer. He lived the last two years at Heartland of Hillsboro.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Mae Grover, who passed away on July 31, 1973, three brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Mary Grover of Washington Court House, Larry and Elanna Grover of Circleville, David Grover of Hillsboro, daughters and son-in-law, Jean and Fred Bauman of Waverly, Janet Grover of Hillsboro, sister, Margaret Cummings of Hillsboro, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Janie Shoemaker, Rev. Dr. Wayne O. Clark, and Rev. James T. Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 5:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
